Network Load Balancing

A core component of the Edge platform is its ability to link multiple wide-area network connections together and balance session traffic across those links. Unlike other shaping appliances which also allocated and optimize existing bandwidth, only the Edge platform is able to inexpensively increase available bandwidth through WAN balancing.

Multihoming & Reliability

Combine multiple WAN links and achieve 99.999% uptime through automated and relatively instant network failover and failback services.

In the event of a WAN link outage, the Edge will automatically change how network traffic is routed to ensure 24x7 uptime for your network, your servers, and your end-users.

Broadband Aggregation

The Edge platforms works with any type of broadband connection, T1, DS3, DSL, Cable, Wireless, ISDN, Frame, etc. Only an Ethernet handoff is required for the Edge to establish a WAN link.

Reduce costs while increasing bandwidth and redundancy at the same time. Many broadband connections are inexpensive and can be used to offload less critical application traffic like web surfing and email.

Inbound Server Balancing

Balance incoming server requests across multiple WAN links through our ActiveDNS module. ActiveDNS provides intelligent balancing of server traffic between connections using network metrics based on usage and best path routing.

Add redundancy to your server farm via two or more Internet connections. Lower latency and increase response rates through sessions balancing across each link.

Application Routing

XOS Preview

Advanced routing capabilities means that you can determine how critical vs non-critical applications are routed. WAN routing can be performed on a per application or per user level.

Split up network traffic based on importance, critical business applications like VPN and VoIP over WAN1, while less sensitive applications like web surfing and email access over WAN2.
