Our link load balancing capabilities allows for Internet sessions to be balanced across multiple WAN links which enables faster connectivity for end-users and increases the overall bandwidth available to the network. Link balancing has advantages in that it does not utilize as many system resources and allows for dynamic route manipluation in order to optimize WAN utilization.

Faster Downloads
Increase the performance of your network by aggregating two or more broadband connections. The Edge platforms can balance traffic across T1, Cable, DSL, wireless, satellite and most other WAN connectivity products. Speed up file downloads, web-access, email transfers, database access, etc. while lowering costs using inexpensive broadband connections.
99.999% Uptime
By utilizing two or more WAN connections the Edge platforms are able to achieve over five nines availability. What this means is almost zero downtime for network users and/or inbound connections to your organizations servers. If the Internet is mission critical for your organization, the Edge Wan & Internet Load Balancer is a mission critical component.
Inbound / Outbound Balancing
The Edge platforms provide a comprehensive network balancing solution. With automatic outbound network balancing and an easy to configure ActiveDNS service for inbound server balancing and reliability, the Edge Wan & Internet Load Balancer delivers a truly complete solution.
Session Persistence
A significant issue with some balancing products, the EdgeXOS Wan & Internet Load Balancer ensures session persistence throughout long file downloads and gracefully handles various web-hosted applications which require session persistence to function properly.
Best Path RoutingTM
A core element of our balancing technology is our Best Path Routing algorithm. BPR uses various network metrics, including administrative weighting, to determine how network sessions are balanced across the various active links. Each new session and overall network utilization effects the balancing decision along with remote resource assignments which can be designated by the network administrator.
Multi-Level Outage Detection
Unique to the Edge Wan & Internet Load Balancer is the ability to sense network outages via multiple testing methods. This layered approach to outage detection ensures that network failures are found regardless of whether they are at the local gateway router or deep within your service providers network. Multi-level outage detection is fast, reliable, and ensures maximum SLA performance.
Internet Link Balancing
With the ability to aggregate network connectivity from up to six different providers, the Edge platforms is highly scalable. Why allocate huge portions of the IT budget for expensive DS3 connections when you can connection up to 6 broadband links and achieve the same throughput limits and even greater reliability.
Zero outage protection. Several hours or days worth of downtime, what would that cost your organization? Slower Internet access as more applications are brought online. More user complaints regarding choppy web access.
Slow Server Response
Without additional bandwidth any network will begin to slow down over time. New applications and additional users begin to use up all available resources and packet shaping products can only assist for so long.
Expensive Bandwidth Options
While it is always possible to obtain additional bandwidth, what is the cost? Beyond standard T1 rates the cost for bandwidth skyrockets to thousands of dollars per month. Adding secondary BGP links are expensive with high maintenance costs and provide no load balancing capabilities.
Zero Redundancy
A single Internet connection, no matter how much bandwidth it delivers is always susceptible to outages. This translates to downtime, high costs, and lost revenue. Multihoming with BGP provides little benefits for the high cost of deployment. BGP is in most cases prohibitively expense and in all cases not worth the expense due to its many limitations, including the inability to balance network traffic.
